They slide over your thumb so you don't actually have to hold on to them while you walk or do stuff. I recently bought these nifty wrist/hand weights to use while walking on the treadmill. I'm hoping to use it to be more active since I have a mostly desk job during the day and spend 2 hours in the car every day. I did however get a yoga game, have the fitness game, and now have a dance game and a zumba game. I have a kinect but haven't been real good about using it. Since my workouts are step-based, I get a more accurate reading of how many calories I burned while playing Your Shape: Fitness Evolved. The game just makes it easy and fun to get in my exercise. Ok, so I didn’t lose the weight playing Modern Warfare 3, but I was playing a video game. A few more pounds and I could be off my medication. My blood pressure had gone from 136/94 to 104/72. When I went back to my doctor, he was ecstatic. I was starting to feel sexy again! I had not only lost 70lbs of fat, I gained substantial lean muscle mass, which is extremely hard to do. But, I had some serious upper body strength now. Your Shape: Fitness Evolved allowed me to do everything except floor work, like sit-ups etc.

I had increased my routine to about two and a half to three-hour workouts, adding free weight training as well as cardio work. I was still exercising daily, still getting up at 4:00 am to get my workout in before work. Six months after starting my exercise routine with the Kinect, I had lost 70lbs.
